So, secondary characters that threaten to take over your book. Yeah, that happens to me a lot.
James in Lady Hathaway did that. When I first wrote that book, I hadn’t planned on it being a series. Then the new heir had a bit part and I had to write Lord Hathaway.
The Earl of Brantford had the tiniest of walk-on parts in Loving the Marquess. Then he threatened to take over Beguiling the Earl and I had to promise him his own book. I just finished that book – The Unaffected Earl.
And wouldn’t you know, the heroine for The Unsuitable Duke popped in to give that book an interesting twist as well. She came out of nowhere! My mouth was hanging open when she and Rose have that conversation in the carriage (you’ll see what I mean when The Unaffected Earl is released!)
As I write The Unsuitable Duke, I’m trying to make sure I have all the secondary characters already married so I can actually get back to the books I’d planned to write for the Landing a Lord series!
