The alpha hero has always been a popular character in romance novels. Contemporary, historical, paranormal—it doesn’t matter which subgenre you enjoy. A strong take-charge hero is irresistible.
Why is this? After all, if we met these men in real life many of us would find them insufferably full of themselves. Many heroines do have this impression of the hero when they first meet him. Yet, if done well in a novel, that same almost over-the-top character can really work his way into the reader’s heart.
Personally, I’m drawn to heroes who seem to be in control of their life, but their world is thrown completely off balance when they meet the heroine. Whether the hero acknowledges his attraction or tries to pigeonhole the heroine as just another woman, a part of him recognizes that his life will never again be the same.
Richard Hearst, the hero of Dear Stranger, is one of these heroes. The handsome and charismatic Earl of Dearbourne is used to having any woman he wants. An unexpected encounter with Sophie Crandall, however, turns his world upside down. Here, finally, is a woman who appears to be everything he wants. She is attractive, passionate, intelligent, and most important, unimpressed with his title. She isn’t intimidated by him and has no desire to draw his attention. Dearbourne wants to pursue her, but there is one problem. She is being courted by his brother.

At a masked ball, where no one is what they seem, a jaded rake is surprised by his reaction to the one woman he should not pursue.
In addition, we have THREE grand prizes for participants of this blog hop. As a reader, you can go to EACH blog and comment to be entered to win. Please make sure to include your email address in the body of the comment so the person hosting this tour can contact you if you win.
