It’s hard to believe that summer is over. I know that technically we still have a few weeks before fall officially begins, but the day after Labour Day – which has always been the day children return to school here in Ontario, Canada – has always signified the end of summer for me. I’ll admit that I can’t wait until the temperature begins to drop. Fall has always been my favorite season. The cool, crisp air of a sunny fall day has always made me feel as though I could conquer the world.
I haven’t done as much writing as I’d hoped to do this summer, but school vacations are always difficult for me. With two young daughters and a husband who’s a teacher, the house fills up very quickly when school is out. However, now that I have a nice quiet house during the day again, I hope to get to work on the sequel to Dear Stranger.
Happy Almost Fall, everyone! (With apologies to those who love summer.)
